So, I've slowly been making progress on the list. Not as much as I would like, but I feel confident that it will get completed by D-day. I could blame the lack of completion on a hectic life, but it may also be forgetfulness and even some fear. For instance, I went to a bar last weekend where there was karaoke and many bad singers. I would have fit right in. However even after several drinks, I could not get up the nerve to sing solo. I will follow through with this though. Just give me a moment.
As for 8, and 22. There has been some progress on these long term goals. Now I know #8, write letters to my family, is a little cheesy, but I think it is important. Especially since we haven't always had the greatest relationships. With my parents divorce, being raised by a young single mother, and going through my own very rough teen years my family relationships have been strained at times. I feel better about them now, but is hard to tell them how much they mean to me. My family does not naturally share their emotions to begin with. We barely hug or say we love each other. We do show each other all the time though. For instance, if I call my mom and grandma and say I'm sick, I will wake up with bags of groceries at my door. Still, I feel it is important to actually tell them what they mean to me. So, I decided to buy blank greeting cards. On their birthdays, I'm going to write how much I care about them and why. Not only does this seem like the least cheesy way of doing it, but what a great gift to get on a birthday. So starting Saturday for my mom's birthday, I will begin to complete #8. Within a year, I will have let all my close friends and family know what they mean to me.
On another note, I wanted to mention I now have a USA passport! I feel very confident that #9 will happen. I'm aiming for a summer job in Italy. My application is almost complete and ready to send in. (Wish me luck.) If that doesn't happen, I would be happy with something simpler like Toronto or Mexico. Especially Mexico since it is on the bucket list.
Till next time.
